III. Presentation- Explain new theme. Check your grammar: Past simple and past perfect. 1. Revise information about Avicenna and choose the correct form of the underlined verbs.
1. Abū ’Alī al-Husayn ibn ’Abd Allāh ibn Al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Sīn, was

born/ had been born in 980.

2. Avicenna was born near Bukhara, which at the time was ruled/had

been ruled by Samanid dynasty.

3. By the age of 14 he had mastered/ mastered many subjects and
