Topic: “How do you go to …?”
Aim and tasks of the lesson:
Educational aim: to teach pupils how to go to a place which you want


Educative aim: to enable the pupils to choose correct way how to go somewhere


Developing aim: to develop pupils’ speaking, listening and writing skills.


Task: To enable pupils to talk about how they go home or go somewhere.
Technology of carrying out of learning process:
Form: reading, listening, writing, speaking,
Method: interactive, answer questions, match the pictures
Equipment: cards, pictures, a wall chart, handouts, tape recorder, a textbook, …
Step 1.


Introduction:

Greeting with pupils, checking the attendance of them :


Good morning children !


How are you feeling today ?


Who can tell me what date is it today ?


Who can tell me what day is it today ?


What is the weather like for today ?


Who is on duty today? Who is absent today?




Step 2.


Reflection and assessment:

Are you ready for the lesson? OK, let’s begin our lesson. I want to begin today’s lesson checking your homework and asking about the previous lesson. For this purpose I want you to do warm up activity.




Listen and do.

Objective: to enable PP to understand classroom language It is not important for PP to use the instructions. They only need to understand them. PP look at the activity in the Classbook. Read the instructions. Ask PP to listen and do the actions with you. Then play the cassette. Ask PP to do the actions. Make sure that PP perform the instructions.


Now teacher draws pupils` attention to the screen and shows the pictures and asks what comes to their mind when they see these pictures. And by this way teacher remembers the pupils the theme of the previous lesson. The theme was “Where do you work?”


Then teacher asks the pupils homework. Homework was to describe the picture. By asking questions the teacher consolidates the previous lesson materials.


Before introducing the new theme teacher divides the class into three groups. Each group stands in a line in front of the blackboard. Each group has got a place on the blackboard and piece of chalk. They have got only one minute to draw a job tree on the blackboard. PP from each group come up to the blackboard in turns. They can only draw one part of the tree’s body, then pupil gives the chalk to the next pupil. PP should not speak to each other.

Teacher tells PP that their tree can have several branches. Then they will have to describe it. One correct sentence gets two points. If the information is correct but there is a mistake or if the information is wrong but the grammar is correct they get one point. The winning group is the one with the most points.




Step3. Procedure of the lesson


Activity 1a.

Teacher introduces the new theme: “How do you go to …?” She can teach the meaning of the words ‘stand up’, ‘sit down’ and ‘open your books’ and etc.


Then teacher asks the pupils to look at the screen, listen to the new words and repeat. The pictures appear on the screen, teacher plays the cassette, and pupils listen to the words for greetings and repeat.


Now pupils work in pairs and do the matching activity. They must match the pictures and words. They write in on their notebooks. Pupils check the activity with the whole class on the screen.

Teacher presents some names of countries. Pupils look at the pictures. Then pupils listen to the tape and answer the announcer’s questions using the Remember Box. Teacher may play the tape several times if it is necessary.
