Development Services Department highlights for, Planning and Zoning, Code Compliance, Occupational Licenses and Building are summarized below for the month of July 2007.
Planning and Zoning Meetings / Activities for July 2007:
The Director of Planning and Zoning attended the following meetings:
1. Two Meetings with Alan Rosenthal regarding future development of a new office tower of Hallandale Gate at 918 South Federal Highway.
2. Two Meetings with Sam Dichy regarding future redevelopment at 830 South Dixie Highway.
3. Interdepartmental Meeting regarding illegal conversions within the City.
4. Meeting with Manny Synalorski regarding redevelopment of the strip stores at 730 West Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
5. Various meetings with Park Central development team.
6. Various meetings with City Manager and EDAW, Inc. regarding the preparation of the City Wide Master Plan.
7. Meeting with Debbie Orshefsky regarding redevelopment of Gulfstream Promenade and Diplomat Country Club.
8. Meeting with Juan Carlos Ventura regarding the European Club Project.
9. Meeting with Mike Gorin regarding relocation of Nana’s Day Care to NE 2 Terrace.
10. Meeting with Ralph Mitchell regarding the Royal Palm Trailer Park.
11. Meetings with Peter Deutch and Rolando Yame regarding Ben Garman Charter School.
12. Meetings with Lauren Landing regarding land use plan amendment applications for the Dixie Foster project and the City property at North Dixie Highway and Foster Road.
13. Attended Community Meeting for the Oasis Project at 1100 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 6:00 PM.
14. Interviewed several candidates for the Planning Intern Position and Associate Planner Position. As a result, Natalie Yesbeck was offered the Associate Planner position and Jeanette Taverez was offered the Planning Intern position.
15. Attended the City Commission Meeting on July 18, 2007.
16. On July 25^th, 2007; Planning and Zoning Board reviewed:
1) Application #55-07-CL by Hollywood Concession Inc. requesting a 6:00 a.m. Night Club License and
2) Application #56-07-CL by Joseph Franco (Ocean’s Eleven Lounge) requesting a 6:00 a.m. Night Club License.
Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval (5-0 for approval) of both applications to City Commission.
3) EDAW, Inc. presented the City Wide Master Plan and Implementation Strategy for the City of Hallandale Beach. Presentation was well received by Planning and Zoning Board.
Code Compliance Division:
Number of Violation Cases to Special Magistrate for the month of July 2007 was 0, due to a Special Magistrate session break.
Code Compliance Division issued 369 Notices of Violation for the month of July 2007.
Code Compliance Division conducted 755 field inspections for the month of July 2007.
Occupational Licenses:
25 Applications for Business Tax Receipts were processed during the month of July 2007.


19 Business Tax Applications required inspections during the month of July 2007.

Building Division:
The Building Division collected $73,660.89 in total revenue for the month of July 2007.
