Development Services Department highlights for, Planning and Zoning, Code Compliance, Occupational Licenses and Building are summarized below for the month of September 2007.
Planning and Zoning Meetings / Activities for September 2007:
The Director of Planning and Zoning attended the following meetings:
1. Meeting with Alfredo Garra, architect, regarding the Icon Tower, a proposed 25 story mixed use building at 900 South Federal Highway.
2. Meeting with Anthony and Chris DiCarlo, Premier Health Club, regarding development activity in the City.
3. Various meetings with Gulfstream/ Forest City representatives.
4. DRC meetings regarding:
1) Park Central: 462 units, 23,313 s.q. ft. mixed use project proposed at 301 North Federal Highway by Sunvest Communities.
2) Hallandale Office: a proposed 20,000 s.q. ft office building, by Richard Shan, located at 124 South Dixie Highway.
3) RK Town homes: a proposed 9 townhouse units, behind the existing R.K. Diplomat Center.
5. Meeting with Suzanne Friedman, President of the Hallandale Beach Chamber of Commerce, regarding development activity in the City.
6. Meeting with Jeffrey Lynn regarding a permitted office use, within the industrial land use categories.
7. Attended Budget Hearings on September 12^th and September 26^th.

8. Meeting with Mike Gorin, architect, regarding relocating Nana’s Day Care to Mickey’s Trailer Park at 512 NE 1 Court. The relocation would include the redevelopment of the trailer park.

9. Meeting with Manny Synalovski, architect, regarding redevelopment of Hallandale Plaza at 730 West Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
Code Compliance Division:
Numbers of Violation Cases to Special Magistrate for the month of September 2007 were 89.
Code Compliance Division issued 388 Notices of Violation for the month of September 2007.
Code Compliance Division conducted 720 field inspections for the month of September 2007.
Occupational Licenses:
36 Applications for Business Tax Receipts were processed during the month of September 2007.


24 Business Tax Applications required inspections during the month of September 2007.

Building Division:
The Building Division collected $168,182.84 in total revenue for the month of September 2007.
