CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Child development is a dynamic process shaped
by a complex interplay between genetic, biological
and environmental factors that operate from the
time of conception through to the child’s birth
and subsequent development [1]. While there
is enormous variation in both the pattern and
rate of normal development, the sequences of
development are similar in most children. Thus,
developmental milestones can act as convenient
markers for the rate of development.
