3.3. The various methods in developing teaching Political vocabulary
Practical aim of the lesson: to enable students to distinguish types and classes of political terminology according to existing classification criteria and use them in appropriate discourses;
Developmental aim of the lesson: to develop students’ awareness of the role of political terminology in language acquisition and their didactic and linguacultural value;
Upbringing aim of the lesson: to develop students’ skills in critical thinking and working effectively in a group.
Lesson Objectives: 1) to develop Ss skills in identifying various types of political terminology in the spoken and written discourse; 2) to develop their skills in innovative teaching technologies; 3) to encourage students to do self-study research into specific aspects of political terminology from comparative aspect; 4) to enlarge Sslinguocultural competences.

Objectives

To present information based on Questions to the seminar (p.24) focusing only on Question 1, which are set around the nucleus concept “political terminology’ (terminological variants and their distinctive features).)


Materials/ equipment

“Guidebook for seminars in MEL”, WB, markers, p.24


Step-by-step details

1. Ask students to present their ideas about types of political terminology and their linguistic interpretation by using “Cluster” method
2. Summarizing grounds for variability of terms by the teacher.

Contingency plans/ other notes

Not to lose time, do not ask each student all 8 questions repeatedly. Ask Student 1 question 1, student 2 question 2, and student 3 question 3, etc.
