Self-contained heat pump
or cooling unit with auxiliary heat
These are through-the-wall units, with an outside coil, an inside coil,
and an auxiliary heating coil all in a single package. It has the lowest
first cost of any individual AHU system. It is also the noisiest and
typically least comfortable of all the systems discussed. These units
are often found in hotel/motel applications. Guard shacks and vending
kiosks are other types of appropriate applications.
