Smoke and fire detectors.
Most codes require smoke and / or
fire detectors in air-handling systems. The detectors may be installed
in the mixed-air or supply-air systems to sense smoke or fire from
internal or external sources. Two different responses are used. The
most common response is simply to shut down the air-moving system.
