Pump selection
To select a pump, it is necessary to calculate the system pressure drop
at the design flow rate. Losses include pipe, valves, fittings, control
valves, and equipment such as heat exchangers, boilers, or chillers.
The design operating point or a complete system curve can then be
plotted on a pump performance curve (Fig. 6.33). Usually several dif-
