How the Reserve Bank releases information

Update as of 23 June 2020: OCR Announcements Name Change

We are changing the name of the “OCR” announcements to “Monetary Policy Review (MPR)” announcements. This reflects the fact that other tools such as forward guidance and LSAP, not just the OCR, are being deployed to achieve the MPC’s mandate of low and stable inflation and full employment. The naming of MPS announcements will remain unchanged.

Monetary Policy Statement and Financial Stability Reports

The Bank reviews and releases Monetary Policy Decisions seven times a year, publishes Monetary Policy Statements every quarter and and Financial Stability Reports twice a year.

All upcoming announcements and publication release dates are listed at the bottom of the homepage. The Monetary Policy Review decisions are released at 2.00 pm on the Reserve Bank’s Bloomberg and Refinitiv pages, and the FSR at 9.00 am on our website. The decisions and news release are published on our homepage and we tweet a link to the media release via our Twitter channel.

If our website experiences technical issues at release time it will be diverted to a backup site. The Monetary Policy Statement, media release and record of meeting will be available on the backup site until such time as the main site is restored.

We then email the news release to our email subscribers. It can take a few minutes for the email to arrive in your inbox. You can sign up via the website to be emailed Bank news releases.
