Generation gap [Noun] (the difference in attitude, experiences, opinions, habits, and behaviour between young and older people that causes a lack of understanding each other.)
I was aware of a real generation gap between us.

Traditionalist [Noun] (a person who believes in and follows the old, traditional ideas).
Some traditionalists think that a woman should look after the home and not go out to work.
Traditionalists are people who were born before 1946.
Nuclear family [Noun] (a family that consists of parents and children).
The nuclear family makes better communication possible between parents and children.
In modern times, the most common family structure is the nuclear family.
Working parents [Noun] (parents who both engages in a work life (go out to work)).
While their children are at nursery school, Peter works as an engineer and Mary is a teacher. They are working parents.
Many working parents spend up to a quarter of their income on childcare.
Double income [Noun] (two salaries).
Parents of small families with a double income can invest more in the education and well-being of their children.
As Tom and Mary both earn salaries, they can afford to buy more things for
their home as a result of the family’s double income.
Realistic [Adjective] (showing a sensible and practical idea of what can be achieved).
He is realistic enough to know that it won't work.
The man was realistic about what his circumstances were.
Underestimate [Verb] (to estimate something at too low a value, rate, or less important than it actually is).
Her determination to pass the exam should not be underestimated. His talent has always been underestimated.
Never underestimate your power to change yourself!
Hardship [Noun] (a situation in which your life is difficult or unpleasant, often because you do not have enough money, clothes or food).
We have to endure a lot of hardships in life. She has suffered many hardships.
