Keep in touch [Expression] (to maintain communications (talking or writing) with someone).
Let's keep in touch with each other.
We keep in touch with each other by email/writing letters.
To be around the same age [Expression] (describing a group of people who have similar ages).
We are around the same age.
My buddies Tom and Jerry are around the same age as me.
Saxophonist [Noun] (someone who plays the saxophone).
John Coltrane is supposed to be the greatest jazz saxophonist of all time. Her father is a saxophonist, and her mother is a pianist.
Extended family [Noun] (a family unit including grandparents, parents, children, aunts, uncles, and other relatives).
She went to her boyfriend's hometown to meet his extended family. I have been grown up in an extended family.
The in-laws [Noun] (the parents and relatives of your husband or wife).
My in-laws will be coming to visit me this weekend. She got married and moved to her in-laws.
A family gathering [Noun] (an occasion when all family members meet together for a particular purpose).
He doesn't enjoy family gatherings very much.
During the family's gatherings in the evenings, she would sing, as she had a beautiful voice.
I see my cousins only at occasional family gatherings.
Acquaintance [Noun] (a person you know a little, but is not a close friend).
She is an old acquaintance of mine.
She's not a casual acquaintance whom you barely know.
Fall out with [Expression] (to have an argument with someone).
I had a fall out with my mom about her losing my earrings.
If she does not stop gossiping, all her friends are going to fall out with her.
Cheer sb up [Expression] (to make someone feel happier).
We tried to cheer him up.
I decided to try to cheer her up by sending her a bouquet of flowers. He tried to cheer her up, but failed miserably.
Count on [Verb] (to depend on someone to do what you want).
She is very busy, don't count on her assistance.
You cannot count on him because he's too irresponsible.
Hang around [Verb] (to spend time in a place, usually for no particular reason).
I will just hang around here for a while.
He used to skip lessons and hang around the harbor with some other boys.
Befriend [Verb] (become a friend of someone). We are willing to befriend the weak and the poor. After the fight, he wanted to befriend her.
