To the taxonomy and geographical distribution of spruces (
Picea
) in Western Siberia

The 
Picea 
A. Dietr. includes 35–50 species circumpolar throughout the northern hemisphere, in Rus-
sia 7 native species grows. Our investigation allowed to clarify and find new stable diagnostic features of 
vegetative organs (needles, apical buds, profills, annual shoots and its pulvini) and reproductive organs (seed 
and bract scales of cones). According our investigation, spruces of Western Siberia can be divided into sev-
eral groups: 
P. obovata
I (typical), 
P. obovata
II, and 
P. fennica
(form close to 
P. obovata
and typical one). 
Molecular-genetic studies of spruce specimens in this region revealed the presence of mitochondrial hetero-
plasmy. This is one of the most eastern regions on the territory of the Russian Federation, where haplotypes 
nadl, characteristic of 
P. abies
(L.) H. Karst. have been found. Of great interest is also the revealed regularity 
in the geographical distribution of haplotypes nadl of the spruce of Western Siberia.

Злаки (сем. Poaceae Barnhart) всегда считались «трудным» объектом для систематиков. Неяс-
ные границы видов и более крупных таксонов, варьирование отдельных признаков – принято считать, 
что это связано с широко распространенной у злаков отдаленной гибридизацией (Цвелев, 2005 и др.),
