NOTICE OF SALE

NOTICE OF LIEN SALE OF PROPERTY FOR NON-PAYMENT OF

PROPERTY TAXES AND WATER/SEWER UTILITY CHARGES
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:5 public notice is hereby given that I, Esther A. Kiss, Tax Collector of the taxing district of the Borough of Lake Como, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey will conduct a public sale at the Lake Como Council Chambers, which is located at 1740 Main Street, Lake Como, NJ on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM or at such later time and place to which said sale may be adjourned. The sale will consist of real estate taxes and water/sewer utility charges prior to and including the calendar year period ending December 31, 2015, together with interest and costs, computed to the day of the sale. Said properties will be sold subject to redemption at the lowest rate of interest, with interest not to exceed 18% per annum. Payments for liens purchased shall be made either in cash, money order, bank cashier’s check, certified funds or wire transfer prior to the close of sale, or the parcel will be resold. Properties for which there are no other purchasers shall be struck off and sold to the Borough of Lake Como at an interest rate of 18% per annum.
Industrial properties may be subject to the Spill Compensation and Control Act (N.J.S.A. 58:10-23.11 et seq.), the Water Pollution Control Act (N.J.S.A. 58:10A-1 et seq.) and the Industrial Site Recovery Act (R.S.13:1K-6 et seq.). Based on an active records search conducted through the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection website, the properties listed below are not subject to ISRA. In addition, the Municipality is precluded from issuing a Tax Sale Certificate to any prospective purchaser who is or may be in anyway connected to the prior owner or operator of the site.
“IN THE EVENT THAT THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY IS ON ACTIVE DUTY IN THE MILITARY SERVICE, THE TAX COLLECTOR SHOULD BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY.”
