The research “Animator’s profile in tourism”
To understand animator’s profile in tourism we did additional research at the
area of Mediterranean at the sample animators of recreation.
5.1. The subject, goal and tasks of research
The subject of the research is the animator who has to be up to date with the
latest sports and social events, music trends. Animator has to put in use the
current technology and therefore participate in the creation of program while
giving his own creative mark. The goal of the research is to establish the
educational profile and to enable the animator to do daily and evening

programs. It also examines the connection between the animator`s capability
and the program that is run in the hotels.
The primary task of the research is to define the educational profile as well as
the specific education and the knowledge of the animator by which the program
of the recreational activities in the hotels is realized.
The tasks of the research:
1.
To determine socio-demographic characteristics of the animator (gender
and age).
2.
To determine the manner of how animators realize the activities.
3.
To analyze daily programs of animation in the hotels.
4.
To analyze evening programs of animation in the hotels.
5.
To analyze the importance of the communication between the animator and
the co-workers and the guests of the hotels.
6.
To analyze the communication of the guests and the staff that is responsible
for the realization of the program.
5.2 The methodology of the research
This research as a basic method will be using empirical, non-experimental
method or the so-called "survey" method. On the choice for this method
significantly influenced the type of the sample that was chosen accordingly to
the subject of the research. The use of the "survey" method in a scientific
research demands the choice of a representative sample by which the possibility
for the generalization of the results is achieved.
This method examines the profile of the animator in relation to the program
content. The examination was done transversally, i.e. the population of the
animators was examined in a tourist season in present day which represents the
core of the "survey" method. The "survey" method is also suitable for
conducting research in natural environment.
As an add-on to basic analysis, the method of theory analysis will be used. This
method analyses the results of the recent studies on tourist animators. With the
help of the method of comparation it will be established what is mutual and
what is different in those research studies and based on that, with the use of
logical process of abstraction and generalization, the theory frame to our
empirical research will be made. At the same time that kind of theory frame will
be useful for classification and the understanding of the results. The reason for

choosing this method is the fact that in a way it includes the historical method
that will ensure that the goals and the tasks of this research are efficiently
realized.
The technique that was also used is the technique of survey and scale and a
statistical technique of editing the results of the research.
The research took place during the summer seasons. The questioners were given
to the animators to pass it to the hotels. The questioner was consisted of 10
questions in English. In each question there was an offered answer that was
provided by the author. The author was guided by the fact that the English
language is the basic in the world of animation. Next to 10 questions there were
also questions that relate to basic information.
The samples of the surveyors in this research were the adults of both genders
who actively are involved in animation. The whole sample of the survey
respondents was 75. 40 of them were females and 35 were men. All survey
respondents were the persons that worked as animators during the summer
season. The survey respondents were the people who come from different social
environments. It was not necessary to leave full name in the questioner. The
goal was to represent yourself and the job as objectively as possible.
The variables that are important for the research are the quantities variables
(considering that the results were presented in descriptive categories) and of
predictive character:
Variables in the area of personal info that relate to the gender of the survey
respondents.
Variables in the area of professional info that relate to the education of
animators.
Variables in the area of daily recreational activities.
Variables in the area of evening program.
Variables in the area of communication.
Variables in the area of the program announcement.
The data that were retrieved in this way were edited with standard method of
descriptive statistic. The results were edited with the statistical program SPSS
12.0 adapted for the use on personal computers. In this way different statistical
values were produced. This was put in several charts and the results were dealt
with as separate questions.
