statement “I feel learning English is helpful for my future career”. Overall, the agreed strongly result 
is 4.34 mean (Table 5).

Compared with the previous two statements in Extrinsic motivations, this statement (Table 7) had 
4,10 mean less. This result shows an agreed response because 38% of people selected agree, and the 
other 38% chose strongly agree.
Conclusion
This research found out that many students are motivated extrinsically, not intrinsically, in learn-
ing the English language. The intrinsic questions gave agreed results. Extrinsic questions came with 
the strongly agreed overall outcome that indicated the importance of English in studying abroad
winning scholarships or awards, and a helpful tool for the student’s future career. The research shows 
the importance of teachers in teaching students because the students are motivated more extrinsically 
rather than intrinsic motivation.
