Zaamin near Jizzakh

 

The Zaamin tourist zone is an ecologically clean area that has retained its original appearance and has its own

flora and fauna. It is located on the territory of the Zaamin State Reserve in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan on

the tourist route between Samarkand and Tashkent. It is known from history that Zaamin is one of the oldest

regions of Central Asia, Ustrushna, which is surrounded by ancient territories: Sogdia, Bactria, Fergana and

Chach. According to archeological sources, Zaamin is more than two thousand years old (2nd-1st centuries BC).

During the excavations, archaeologists found the remains of a settlement that lived more than 2,500 years.

 

Zaamin means "agricultural land" in Persian and Tajik, as it was mentioned in ancient times as a fertile soil. The

Zaamin State Reserve covers an area of   24,110 hectares and has a unique landscape with a separate mountain

range that stretches from east to west, covering medium and high ridges from 1,760 to 3,500 meters above sea
