6. Tell me about an important transport development in your country.
I think the major change that took place in the last 10 years is the phenomenal increase in the
number of cars on the roads. A few years ago, there used to be only taxis in my city. But nowadays,
there are thousands of cars on every road, at any time of day. As a result, the city has changed.
Roads were enlarged, so many houses were torn down（＝destroyed); parking lots were built, and
bridges, highways, and tunnels mushroomed throughout the area. I am pretty sure that the same
thing happened in most Chinese cities．People enjoy a more comfortable lifestyle because they
don't need to put up with the crowds on the bus, and they can also save time. But in China, we say
that every coin has two sides, and the development of cars has also caused a lot of problems,
especially when it comes to the environment.
