Aspects regarding the activities related to the courses
The students will use the course support, the references, reports/analysis/the website of the National Bank of Romania,
the websites of the banks acting on the Romanian banking market, the websites of the international banks, international
financial institutions, other sources of documentation and information, own judgement/experience, in order to analyze
and corelate the course topics with the realities of the banking and financial system of Romania, to answer to questions,
to debate issues, related to the problematique of the course.
The analysis and the correlation of the theoretical-conceptual and practical aspects, of the banking and financial sector
of Romania/international best practice, represents a premise for a better understanding and learning of the course topics.
The documentation and the workload in order to answer the questions, will be done mainly during the course period. It
is necessary to prepare the answers in word format. Considering future opportunities, these answers might be asked by
the Professor (via the platform or via email).

The course activity will represent 70 % (7 points within the final mark).
In accordance with the actual provisions, the evaluation will be held online, via online quiz tests, multiple choice
questions with a single answer.
Test 1 – 30 % (3 points within the final mark)
Test 2 – 40 % (4 points within the final mark)

The study for the Banking Products and Services Course, will focus mainly on the slides from 1 to 11, including
the Introduction, the Structure of the course, the Trends that are shaping the banking activity/the banking
products and services.
The debate/questions to reflect and prepare answers in order to increase the learning experience are the following:
1. Which among the trends presented do you consider that may modify/influence significantly the banking products
and services?
2. BigTech/Fintech companies may contribute to the change of the banking services, for example of the payment
services? Provide/add arguments in order to support your answer.

products and services.

3. Is it important that a banking organization to consider financial inclusion, within the policy for development of the
banking products and services?
4. Access the websites/reports/studies/publications/information provided by the international financial institutions
(such as, but not limited to IMF, World Bank, Bank for International Settlements) to identify the usage of the ESG
criteria/risks.
Document the answer and relate the information with the theoretical – conceptual elements/with the topics of the
course.
