ABSTRACT 
 This article discusses the segmentation of the modern art market in  art  marketing. The classic 
modern  market  is  considered global, it is  represented by living  artists who have contributed to 
the  historical  development  of  art,  and  whose  work  as  a  commodity  is  traded  in  the  secondary 
market. This market consists of artists who in recent decades have begun to attract the attention 
of  the  specialized  press,  thanks  to  their  exhibitions,  have  won  the  attention  of  prestigious 
curators and have been invited to such international events as the Venetian Biennale, Manifesto, 
Documenta in Kassel, or won prizes like Turner Prize and Hugo Boss prize.
