Advantages of recycling of metal
Some metals, especially aluminum, are so profitable to recycle that companies pay people and businesses for their used metal, according to Waste Care Corporation. Metals are usually completely recyclable, which reduces the environmental impact of mining for metal.
Preserving Resources. One of the main reasons for you to recycle is because by recycling you can help you preserve resources. Not only will you be aiding in the reduction of natural resources that are being uses but you will also use fewer resources within your home. If you recycle more you will inevitably use less bin bags and so in a small way you will be helping yourself whilst also helping the environment.
Reducing Emissions. The steady increase in the amount of carbon emissions that are being released each year is one of the main factors contributing to global warming,. If you recycle you can aid in the reduction of carbon emissions which will reduce the levels of pollution in out atmosphere and although we cannot yet undo the damage that we have done to the atmosphere we could stop any further damage from being done by recycling more and wasting less.
Managing Energy Consumption. By recycling more metal you can lessen the demand for natural resources such a sore. It also takes far less energy to process recycled metal than it does to mine ore, purify it and then shape it. If we recycled all of our metal we could save up to 92% of the energy that we currently use in regards to aluminium.
Economic Development. Recycling metal means that the government can save money in the right places, which they can then spend on improving various aspects of the economy. One way in which the government tend to improve the economy is by providing businesses with better loans so that the businesses can expand and thus provide more people with jobs.
Price Adjustments. One of the best reasons for you to recycle your metal is because in the end you could save money by doing so. If the majority of people recycled their metal on a regular basis you could find that due to the reduction in the cost to produce metal items it could also cost less for you to purchase metal goods such as canned foods.
Disadvantages of recycling of metal
Collecting and sorting materials to recycle is energy and time consuming, and expensive
You’ll find out that many recycled metals are impure
Steel, aluminum and other metals must be manually separated from other recyclable materials like paper and plastic
Requires more transportation needs because many trucks are needed to carry used metals
More sorting factories and facilities are needed to be made, bought and constructed which can be costly
Some metals particularly aluminum degrade after every reuse cycle and this means that that the final products may vary in quality
Recycling facilities may have substandard working conditions thus increasing workers being exposed to toxins
PS: I would choose metal recycling because there was more number of advantages than disadvantages (I found out using internet) another reason is we can save our environment from toxins if we recycle it
