Outcomes include
1. Students accurately define the meaning of “point of view.” They can accurately state,
elaborate and exemplify its meaning.
2. Students demonstrate awareness of the fact that reasonable people can vary signifi-
cantly in their points of view, especially on controversial issues.
3. Students enter empathically into points of view with which they disagree, and accu-
rately represent those viewpoints. They seek common ground whenever possible.
. Students are aware that there is some truth in points of view other than their own, and
that the worth of a viewpoint has nothing to do with its popularity.
