Activity 1b Play I like/I don’t like. 5 min
Objective: to revise words related to sport
The pupils play a game, e.g. I like snowboarding but I don’t like boxing. 
Activity 1c Complete the posters. 10 min
Objective: to establish where to use “play”, “do” and “go” with sports
STEP 1: Put three posters on the wall in diff erent parts of the class. On the fi rst 
poster draw a ball and a racket. Write a word “play” on the left and ask the pupils to 
give the words which go with the word “play” from Activity 1a.

Ask the pupils to give other suggestions. Add with their help: play chess, play 
handball, play basketball.
Complete  the  poster  for  “Go”,  and  then  with  “Do”.  Use  the  notes  below  if 
necessary.
