Extra activity
In pairs or groups, students discuss which of
the guidelines in Activity 4 are the most useful
and which, if any, they disagree with. They
could also think of other guidelines. If your
students are confident but in need of accuracy
practice, this activity (and many others) could
be conducted in groups of three, with two
people doing the talking and the other
monitoring for use of the grammar point (in
this case, articles). The monitor role would then
be rotated.
A further alternative for confident students is
to ask them to record the conversation (for
example, on their mobile phones if they have a
recording feature), play back the recording at
the end of the activity and check for errors in
the use of articles.
