 Tell students that they will listen to a help 

desk technician talking to an IT user. For this 

first listening, they just listen for the main idea: 

what information does the technician want? 

a date/the install date

  Students listen again, this time for specific 

information: they number the boxes to indicate 

the order they hear the information. Before 

listening, students should familiarise themselves 

with the instructions.  

 4  Choose ‘Properties’ from the menu.
