mark the stressed words on the script. After
feedback, they practise these conversations with
a partner, using the appropriate sentence stress.

Ask students how the meaning would change
if different words were stressed in the
conversations in Activity 6.
Answer
The stressed word generally carries a stronger
meaning, so by changing the stress, you can
change the emphasis.
