8.People today generally have better lives than people in the past did. To what extent do you agree or disagree? It is undeniable that the span of life is changing day by day and year by year. Although some people still believe that past days are better, I would argue that the technological advancements and the development of countries are essential factors in making their lives better. To begin with, one of the most critical factors for seeking better lives is technology. The reason behind this is that it has a significant role in making life faster and more convenient than ever before. For instance, people have not been able to send a letter within a couple of seconds as emails do, and they have to wait weeks and sometimes months until it received. In contrast, if this letter included critical information was delayed or even lost, people would get lost and frustrated as well.Furthermore, nowadays, the development of countries is essential to obtain a decent lifestyle. Developed countries around the globe always have plans, whether for education, health, transportation and their aim are to see their citizens live in an appropriate life. To illustrate, the Canadian Government had recently established a new way for harvesting crops. Farmers in Canada are suffering from the bad weather almost all of the year that make it impossible for them to grow up, and by this way, the government is still searching for possible ways to make it easier for their people to live. In contrast, if this has not happened by the Canadian’s authorities, people would struggle in growing their crops. To conclude, this is my view that technology and development are vital factors for making people live in a decent way. 9.Some people think that interview is not reliable method of choosing whom to employ and there are other better methods. To what extent do you agree or disagree. Recruiting new employees can be a long and painful process. Some employers conduct interviews to select new workers.I disagree with the given statement, which says that an interview is not a method, and other methods are better. I believe that interview is a reliable method, but they're also plenty of methods available for recruiters which are also good, and the choice of method is depend on recruiters which method they are found suitable. There are many reasons why an interview is a good method for recruiting.Firstly ,by the interview the recruiters can get an idea about the personality and social skills of potential employees. In interviews, there is face to face interaction and candidates have to answer impromptu questions. From which personality traits can be judged. Also ,by asking some case study type questions, employees can judge traits like the ability to handle pressure, confidence and ability to think outside the box. However, there are many selection methods with varied advantages. One of the common and popular methods is written tests. This method is preferred when the focus is on judging the theoretical knowledge of the person. Another conventional job selection method is a group discussion, This method is good where major job requirements of the company instance for sales jobs.Group discussion can determine the convincing power of an individual.Last but not the least, there can be a combination of the all three ways like written tests, followed by group discussion finally interviews with the method recruiters can check everything from personality to theoretical knowledge also communication skills. It is evident that different methods have different advantages and the best method can not be signalled out. depends on the situation. For example, interviews assess a person's individual traits better whereas written tests are more about knowledge and expertise in an area. There are shortcomings to every method too for example there is a chance of personal bias in interviews. the combination of methods can take too long to select the perfect employee. To conclude, the hiring method depends upon the job and company requirements. In
