The number of high rising buildings is on the rise in my town, Choa Chu Kang in 
Singapore. This is a residential town in the West Region of the country. It 
shares its border with some other cities and has a moderate population. But 
the recent rising trend is a bit troublesome, and I will describe the matter 
now.
Singapore is a country where people of all cultures and ethnicities live in 
harmony. The majority of them are tourists while the remaining others are 
native and immigrant from different other countries. To accommodate the 
huge population, a large number of buildings are underway and the builders 
are expanding on the upper sides. So, the number of high-rise structures is on 
the rise in my city as well. The building that I am talking about is located in the 
residential area where I live in. This is a 20-storied building for multipurpose 
use. The building is the tallest structure on the locality.
The building comes with a wide and spacious structure. The inside of the 
building is well decorated and there are ample spaces for several purposes. 
The structure looks like a giant building standing surpassing everything around. 
In fact, this is the only high-rise structure in the locality. The remaining other 
buildings are not so tall as this one. Most of them are around four-storied 
residential buildings. They are only used for residential purposes in the area. 
But this one is different from them. The interior of the building is made with 
attractive design. I think a lot of labour and money have been invested in the 
preparation of this building. Construction of the building began around three 
years ago and the entire task is done now.
The building is meant for multipurpose use. Actually, this is a completely 
residential area. There are no commercial buildings in the entire locality. But 
this is the first one here. So far I came to know that the building will be used 
for commercial and residential purposes. The residential section will begin 
from the sixth floor while commercial space is available till the fourth floor. 
The spaces will be sold or rented to as shopping centre, food court, 
gymnasium, mini theatre and others. It is also known that there will be a 
recreational park for the kids on the ground floor. The remaining floors are 
planned for a residential complex that will come with several lifts and 
alleviators, wide staircase and apartments. Moreover, there will an 
underground parking facility for the tenants of the building.

I am not in favour of the building for some specific purposes. First of all, this is 
a multipurpose building. It comes with various types of use. When the building 
will come in full-fledged operation, it will be crowded and noisy. As a result, 
the existing peace of the locality will be gone. On the other side, some of the 
local inhabitants are experiencing some troubles. Even, I am also having some 
like I cannot the cellular network signal properly. Besides, I use the modem for 
the internet and the modem signal is also hampered to a great extent. The 
residential status of this portion of the city will be removed soon. I think this is 
the beginning of the commercialization of the area and in the near future, 
there will be many other buildings like this. The landlords will sell their 
properties to make more profit in exchange of sacrificing the existing serenity.
