It is interesting for me to discuss the antique pieces I have at home. I have a 
large dining table at my home made with the woods from oak. My family has 
been using the table for over 40 years. 
The table still looks brand new with its dark brown colour and interestingly, 
there are not a single damage is found on the table. The dining table was made 
during the 1970s with an antique look and now has really become an antique 
piece. It is now used for dining all the times and can accommodate 10 
members at a time. But I have only six members in the family and thus we do 
not need to use all the chairs unless there are guests at our home. 
My family has been using the table for around 40 years from the day it was 
brought to the home. It was difficult to accommodate the table inside the 
small house of my grandfather. Then some extensions were made to the house 
only to accommodate the dining table. The table with its antique look takes a 
notable amount of space to be housed inside the dining room. Earlier, the 
dining space was smaller and after the table was brought in, some of the parts 
of the house were renovated and extra space was created for the table. Since 
then, the table is in the same place as it was kept by my grandfather.
The woods were collected by my grandfather and he was selective in this case. 
He liked the wooden furniture and arranged for the finest wood so that the 
furniture could be durable than the other things. He was right and still the 
other furniture like the beds, sofas, the dining table is on the same look. As he 
wanted to make something different, he invested lots of money and time to 
make the table. He hired the carpenters and showed them the table design. It 
took around two weeks to complete the table. Being a perfectionist, my 
grandfather did everything with great care. The table was not an exception of

that. My family is also happy with the table now for its unique look and 
continuous service without any repair works. 
My family is still using the table for its top notch condition and capacity. This is 
a spacious table with a length and width of around 9 by 3.5 feet. All the chairs 
are heavy and decorated with antique designs. Since the table is in a good 
state, all the family members decided to use the table until there is any 
notable damage occurs or any repair is needed. They are on the view that the 
table will also go for twenty years more without any trouble. Besides, the table 
is a token of my grandfather who died seven years back. Considering all the 
issues, the table is still in the house and serving my family whenever it is 
needed. Additionally, the antique look of the table has really made it an 
antique piece in the adjacent locality and among our neighbours.
